Jim Weiner, LEED Fellow, CA Architect
Managing Principal Jim Weiner founded Collaborative Project Consulting as the natural progression of a thirty-year career as a design architect & educator. He is a recognized thought leader in architecture & sustainable building in the U.S. & internationally. Green building policy has been shaped by his hands-on work with the U.S. Green Building Council, major utilities, universities and state/local governments. Jim is an educator & speaker for groups including the American Library Association, Community College Facilities Coalition, Pitzer College, UCLA, USC, UCSB, SCIARC, Cal Poly Pomona, Association of Energy Engineers, American Solar Energy Society, AIA, ASHRAE, Energy Resource Center & the U.S. Green Building Council. His projects as a design architect have earned awards including AIA Chapter Design Excellence, Los Angeles City Beautification and an AIA/COTE Top Ten. Jim's work with the USGBC has been significant over many years including selection for the Charter LEED Faculty, serving as Vice-Chair of the national USGBC Education Committee and being Founding Co-Chair of the USGBC/LA.
Jim was elevated in the inaugural class of LEED Fellows in 2011.
Kelly Gearhart, LEED Fellow, LEED BD+C & O+M, GPR, BPI
Kelly Gearhart is a LEED Fellow and Consulting Associate with Collaborative. Kelly holds green building and sustainability credentials including LEED AP BD+C, LEED AP O+M, Certified Green Building Professional, GPR New Homes, GPR Existing Multifamily Homes and BPI Multifamily Building Analyst. Kelly is USGBC LEED® Faculty™ with the U.S. Green Building Council and an Instructor at the University of California Berkeley Extension. Kelly owns H Builders and Triple Green Building Group, LLC, and brings our team two decades of sustainable building design, construction, and operations experience working with all building types for a wide range of clients, including operations professionals, governments, corporate entities, and non-profit organizations. We’ve most recently been working closely on the complex UCSF Precision Cancer Medical Building project.
Marc Richmond, LEED BD+C, CGBP, GPR, HERS, BPI
Marc Richmond holds LEED AP, Certified Green Building Professional, Certified Green Point Rater, HERS Rater, and BPI Multifamily Building Analyst credentials. He owns Practica Consulting and is a Consulting Associate with Collaborative. Marc has been involved in the construction industry – both building and consulting on green buildings for three decades. For seven years, he was with the Austin Energy Green Building Program (the first such program in the world), two as program manager. He was also the founding co-chairman of the US Green Building Council’s LEED-Residential Steering Committee. Marc is also responsible for guiding the development of California’s residential green building program as a co-founding member and senior trainer of Build It Green (administrators of the Green Point Rated program). Build It Green has trained thousands of builders, architects, and realtors, set the de-facto residential standards for green building in California, and certified over 45,000 green homes. Marc has worked in California, Texas, Colorado and Pennsylvania as a green building consultant, a university lecturer, a construction supervisor, and an energy services company project manager. Marc and I have enjoyed training countless contractors and developers and he was an invaluable team member on our recent Heritage Square Senior housing project (GPR Platinum).
Ginger, Wellness Director
Ginger joined the Collaborative team in early 2015. She has extensive experience in being adorable, brings a common sense perspective to environmental awareness that our clients find indispensable, and encourages us to get out of the office to exercise throughout the day.
